"When you think 'Big League,' you think 'Major League Baseball'. When you hear the name Don Stanford, you think of a 'Big League Player' on the mound, at Onondaga Community College, and 'Triple-A Baseball Player', wearing the New York Yankee pinstripes with the Columbus Clippers. Big as in tall, strong, hard-throwing, hard worker, with a great big heart that loved the sport of baseball. And 'Donny' as I called him, never left his focus on that ultimate goal of playing for the MLB. Major League player and manager Clete Boyer once said 'Donny has ownership of what he does best, throws hard strikes, and possesses a big-league attitude.'"  -Joe Antonio
