Chuck Wilbur was hired as Head Coach of the Men's Lacrosse program in 2001. He led the Lazers to their first National Championship in 2006, defeating Suffolk County Community College, 30-6, the most goals ever scored in an NJCAA title game. Wilbur proceeded to lead the Lazers to 10 more national titles, 11 in total, all within 13 seasons.

In Wilbur's 17 seasons at OCC, he compiled a record of 266 wins and 15 losses (.947). In addition, he has won 14 consecutive Region III Championships, 17 consecutive Mid-State Athletic Conference Championships, and guided the Lazers to the longest win streak in college lacrosse history at 107 games (March 30, 2010 to March 5, 2016). He is a 7x NJCAA Lacrosse Coaches Association National Coach of the Year, 8x Region 3 Coach of the Year, and 7x Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. In June of 2017, after Wilbur earned his 10th national title, the Board of Trustees voted to rename the David W. Murphy Field at Lazer Stadium to the Charles "Chuck" R. Wilbur Field. He was inducted into the NJCAA Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2019 and awarded the NJCAA Coaches Legacy Award in February of 2025, which recognizes the all-time winningest coaches in NJCAA history.

Wilbur currently heads the Boys Varsity Lacrosse program at Cicero North Syracuse High School. Since his first season in 2022, he has coached the Northstars to four consecutive Section 3 semifinal appearances, and had 11 players named to the All-CNY team.
