Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Baseball finished as Mid-State Athletic Conference runner-ups for the 2026 season behind Cayuga Community College. The Lazers finished 16-6 in MSAC play. Sophomores
Luis Suarez,
Ryan Campbell,
Jesse DeMaintenon, and
Carlos Jara were named to the 2026 All-Conference team.
Cooper Brogan and
Anthony Sawanec were honorably mentioned and
Bob Piraino was named MSAC Coach of the Year.
Luis Suarez batted a .400 average over MSAC opponents and tallied 15 runs scored and 19 RBIs. He recorded a .829 slugging percentage and .500 on base percentage.
Ryan Campbell achieved a .456 batting average in MSAC play with 26 hits, 17 runs scored, and 12 RBIs. The Syracuse Sophomore led the team in at bats and recorded an on base percentage of .452 and a .667 slugging percentage. He also appeared on the mound pitching 6.1 innings recording 10 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.42.
Jesse DeMaintenon pitched a total 8.1 innings over MSAC opponents with 22 strikeouts. The Sophomore pitcher tallied a batting average against percentage of .273.
Carlos Jara batted a .314 in MSAC play with 14 runs scored, 16 hits, and 13 RBIs. The shortstop tallied an on base percentage of .422 and a fielding percentage of .906.
MSAC Coach of the Year,
Bob Piraino, led the Lazers to 16-6 in conference, earning a runner-up finish. The Lazers were 7-3 at home and 9-3 on the road in MSAC play.
