#10 Onondaga Baseball swept a four-game series against Tompkins Cortland Community College this past weekend. The Lazers traveled to Dryden on Saturday before returning home on Sunday for a Sophomore Day doubleheader.

Saturday Game One: Onondaga 5, Tompkins Cortland 2 (7 innings)

Brandon Breen started the game with a single to left field and scored after two Panther errors and a deep fly ball to center field by
Josh Cosgrove. The Lazers added another run in the second when
Mikey Espinal flew out to center field to score
Terry Daniels after he led off the inning with a double to right-center field.
Â
The Panthers responded with their own leadoff double in the bottom of the second, but the Lazers added three more runs through the third and fourth innings to take game one.

OCC collected 8 hits and 5 RBIs with
Brandon Breen leading the charge with 2 hits.
James Salamone's double in the third inning knocked in the winning run, and
Anthony Carrodeguas scored two insurance runs on his double in the fourth inning.

Amir Nitowski earned the win in his complete game effort, striking out seven Panthers and allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits.

Saturday Game Two: Onondaga 13, Tompkins Cortland 1 (7 innings)

The Onondaga bats exploded in game two, collecting 14 hits and 13 RBIs. OCC held the two run advantage heading in to the fifth inning where they connected with three doubles and a triple to put seven runs on the scoreboard.
Terry Daniels then added an explanation point to the victory when he smashed a two-run home run in the seventh inning.

Josh Cosgrove had a perfect game at the plate, collecting 4 hits and 5 RBIs off two triples and a double.
Terry Daniels went 3-for-5 with a double and 3 RBIs, and
James Salamone ripped two doubles for 2 RBIs.

Kyle Canavally gave up 1 run on 2 hits through six innings for the win.
Dylan McGee completed the last inning giving up two walks and striking out one.

Sunday Game Three: Onondaga 4, Finger Lakes 3 (7 innings)

Matthew Valin celebrated Sophomore Day with his eighth win of the season, pitching a two-hit shutout and collecting a career high 15 strikeouts. The Lazers offense was only able to score three runs on twelve hits, but it was enough to take game three from the visiting Panthers.

Chad Raychel went 3-for-4 from the plate, and
Mikey Espinal went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Adrian Adams gets credit for the game winning triple in the second inning that scored
Anthony Sinicropi from first base.

Sunday Game Four: Onondaga 5, Tompkins Cortland 0 (7 innings)

Tommie Spinner kept the dominance on the mound for the Lazers in the final game of the series. Spinner pitched a complete shutout game, giving up just 2 hits and collecting 7 strikeouts.

Joey Lowen and
James Salamone both had a perfect game at the plate with a combined 5 hits and 4 RBIs.

Onondaga completes the regular season this week as they complete two doubleheaders against Corning Community College. The Red Barons visit Syracuse on Tuesday for a 4pm starts, and the Lazers travel to Corning on Thursday at 2pm.
