The Onondaga baseball team is the #1 West seed for the NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament.  The Lazers, 35-9 on the season and ranked #3 in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll, will host Mohawk Valley Community College, 19-15 and the #4 East seed, in a best-of-three first round series this weekend.  The Lazers and Hawks will square off in game 1 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, with game 2 to follow approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of game 1.  If the two teams split Saturday's games, they will play the 3rd and deciding game on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.  All games will be played at the Onondaga Baseball Complex.

The winner of the Onondaga-Mohawk Valley series advances to the Region III Division III Finals, to be played May 16th through 18th, and hosted by Herkimer County Community College at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls, NY.  The winner of the regional tournament advances to the NJCAA Division III World Series, May 24th through 29th, in Tyler, TX.

The four first round series winners will be reseeded for the regional finals.
