Lazers take two more from Jamestown CC

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Game 1 - Onondaga Lazers seize victory thanks to late single, drop JCC 4-3

Onondaga Lazers and JCC traded the lead five times on Sunday, but Onondaga Lazers ended up on top with a 4-3 win in seven innings over JCC.

Onondaga Lazers pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. Onondaga Lazers went up for good on an RBI single by Tyler Kirwan off Steven Sattz, scoring Zach Traver.  Tyler Kirwan had two extra-base hits for Onondaga Lazers.

Brandon Nylin handled JCC's lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Brandon Nylin allowed no earned runs on five hits and four walks over 5 1/3 innings.  Tanner Whiteman got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings. Tanner struck out two, walked none and gave up three hits.

Onondaga Lazers was sparked by Tyler Kirwan and Chris Rave, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

Steven couldn't get it done on the rubber for JCC, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The top of the first saw JCC take an early lead, 1-0. Marcelo Parker started the rally for JCC with a single.  It didn't take long for Onondaga Lazers to answer as it scored one run of its own in the first. Onondaga Lazers scored on an RBI single by Ryan Paige.

Game 2 - Onondaga Lazers tops JCC in back-and-forth affair, 7-4

After five lead changes in Sunday's game, Onondaga Lazers finally pulled out a 7-4 win over JCC.  Onondaga Lazers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. Onondaga Lazers went up for good on an RBI single by Brandon Kapcinski offEd Dorunda, scoring Ed Tagliareni.  Ed had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Reid VanWoert and Mike Sgroi got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. Sgroi allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits.  Ed Duranda ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked none and struck out six.

The top of the third saw JCC take an early lead, 1-0. Marcelo Parker doubled to ignite JCC's offense.

JCC tied the game in the sixth on a two-run single by Christian Van Note that scored Connor Farnham and Greg Macro.

After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, JCC faced just a 7-4 deficit. An RBI double by Adam Reece fueled JCC's comeback. The game went final when Cody Matheson struck out.
 
Onondaga moves to 10-0 in region 3 and 20-6 overall.
