Utica, NY - Onondaga Track & Field turned in a strong, complete performance at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships this weekend, highlighted by a runner-up finish on the men's side and a wave of podium finishes across the board. The men's team showed its depth and competitiveness in every event group, led by
Raul Rosario's regional title in the 800m (2:07.10),
Paul Swenson's championship performance in the triple jump (13.20m), and
Charlie English's win in the pole vault (3.95m). The sprint group delivered key points with Tah'Jay Molina taking second in the 100m (11.19) and contributing to a 4x100m relay squad that also finished second (43.95), while the distance crew added crucial scoring with a 2-3 finish in the 5000m from Edward Popp and
Jackson Allen. In the field,
Parrish Morrison continued his dominant season with runner-up finishes in both the hammer and shot put, while multiple jumpers placed in the top four to round out a balanced team effort.
On the women's side, standout performances came from
Zariona Hudson, who claimed a regional title in the high jump, and
Hannah Wagner, who added another regional championship in the 400m hurdles and a top-three finish in the javelin to her already impressive season. Across the board, the team continued to add to its historic year, now totaling 11 school records and 68 top-10 marks.
"We showed toughness, depth, and belief all weekend. To finish second on the men's side and have champions across multiple events says a lot about the direction we're heading. We're not done yet and this group is hungry, and we're building toward something even bigger at nationals."
Head Coach, Taylor Bouchard
Nationals will return to Utica, NY on May 7th - 9th.
