Lazers Compete at Ramapo Opener

New York, NY - Onondaga's Indoor Track team had a strong showing at the Ramapo Opener at the Armory, highlighted by multiple school records, NJCAA-ranked performances, and promising early-season marks across all event groups.

The women's team was led by Emma Marshall, who delivered a standout performance in the weight throw, recording a 9.72m personal best. The mark not only set a new school record, but also currently ranks 12th nationally in the NJCAA, signaling a strong start to her season.

In the hurdles, Hannah Wagner clocked 9.83 in the 60m hurdles while continuing her preparation for the pentathlon. With several events still to come together, Wagner's performance showed solid progress early in the year as she builds toward multi-event competition.

The men's team turned in several historic performances. Paul Clark broke the school record in the 3000m, finishing in 8:45.91, which ranks 4th in the NJCAA and placed 4th overall in the meet. Clark's race set the tone for a day that saw Onondaga athletes consistently compete with top regional and national programs.

In the field events, Andrew Lee tied the school record in the high jump at 1.93m, earning 3rd place and moving to 6th in the NJCAA rankings. Charlie English continued his strong indoor campaign in the pole vault, clearing 3.85m to move into 3rd all-time at OCC and 2nd nationally in the NJCAA.

Ny'Quez Madison was a key contributor in the horizontal jumps, posting a 6.66m long jump to finish 5th in the meet, rank 13th nationally, and move into 5th all-time at OCC. Madison also recorded a 13.09m triple jump, while Logan Zapf added 12.34m in the event and a 9.12 in the 60m hurdles.

In the throws, Parrish Morrison continued to etch his name into the record books with a 10.59m weight throw, moving him to 2nd all-time at Onondaga, while also recording the same mark in the shot put.
On the track, the sprint group showed depth despite adversity. Bradock Salisbury, competing while managing an injury, opened his season in the 60m (7.63), while Diallo Corprew (7.35) moved into 8th all-time at OCC. Tah'Jay Molina added strong performances in both the 60m (7.57) and 200m, where his 23.90 ranks 3rd all-time, with Corprew close behind at 23.96 (5th all-time). Chris Zellar ran 53.38 in the 400m, moving into 2nd all-time at OCC.

"What an amazing opportunity it was for the team to compete in a historical venue. I couldn't be prouder of how our athletes competed. We saw school records, national rankings, and a lot of grit. Emma set the standard early, and our field event groups were outstanding across the board. Bradock battled through injury to get quality work in, and Hannah is right where she needs to be as she prepares for the pentathlon. This group showed toughness, depth, and a lot of potential. We're excited to keep building on this memorable indoor season." Taylor Bouchard

The team will travel to St. Lawrence University next weekend to compete.
