BRITTON HITS 1000 POINT MILESTONE IN WIN

Samantha Britton (Kenmore West – Buffalo) needed 17 points on Saturday at home in a game against MSAC rival Corning Community College to break the 1,000 point barrier for her two year women's basketball career at Onondaga Community College…and it didn't take long for her to achieve the milestone.  With 2 minutes left in the first period, Britton made a lay-up for her 18th point of the game.  With the basket, the officials stopped the game in order to allow her to have a short in-game celebration with her teammates and coaches. 

 

Britton finished the game with 28 points and 10 rebounds in leading the Lazers' to a 102-53 win over Corning.  Her 18 points in the first period help lead the home team to a 26-6 lead that was extended to 47-26 by halftime and led to the final margin of victory.

 

Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) had a strong inside game on her way to 19 points and 17 rebounds while Rachel Scalisi (Fabius – Pompey) scored 15 points to go along with a team high 6 assists. Everyone who suited-up to play contributed to the scoring column for Onondaga as the team improved to18-5 (6-1) for the season.  The Lazers had 25 assists on 34 made basic and shot 16 for 19 from the foul line.

 

Onondaga will host SUNY Broome on Wednesday, February 7 at 5pm in Allyn Hall.
