Box Score Onondaga Men's Basketball outlasted Corning Community College, 72-65, on Saturday night in the NJCAA Region III Semi-finals.
 
Both teams went point-for-point through the first five minutes of the game. The scoreboard was tied at nine when the Lazers scored eight unanswered, followed by the Red Barons responding with six straight of their own. Onondaga outscored Corning, 13-8, in the final minutes of the first to hold onto the, 40-28, advantage at halftime.
 
The Lazers captured two offensive boards and scored two quick buckets to start the second, achieving their largest lead of the night at sixteen. There was five minutes left in the game when Corning scored ten straight to get within six points, but the Lazers outscored the visiting Red Barons, 7-4, to close out the game.
 
Shemere Elliott recorded 17 points and 10 boards for his second double-double of the season. James Walker (15 points, 12 rebounds) earned his fourth double-double of the year, while Tae Elijah scored 17 and dished out 6 assists.
 
The top-seeded Lazers will face Herkimer Community College in the NJCAA Region III Championship game tomorrow night at 6:30pm in Allyn Hall.
