Box Score Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) hauled in a team record tying 21 rebounds while scoring a team high 19 points in leading the Onondaga Lazers women's basketball team to a hard-earned 75-68 win at SRC Arena on the Onondaga Community College campus on Sunday afternoon against regional rival SUNY Adirondack.
Onondaga finishes the first semester of play on a four game win streak and a 10-2 overall record while Adirondack falls to 3-8 for the season.
The Lazers overcame a 32-30 halftime deficit to take a two-point lead (52-50) at the end of the third period, and won the game in the fourth quarter by hitting 12 of 14 foul shots in the final frame. Onondaga also overcame the hot shooting of Adirondack's Alexis Smith who connected on eight 3 pointers on her way to a game high 24 points.
Samantha Britton (Kenmore West – Buffalo) had her second double-double of the weekend with 18 points and 11 rebounds while
Payton Noeller (Cato-Meridian) had 10 points for the Lazers in the win.
Onondaga is off until January 5 when they travel for an away game at Harrisburgh (PA) Area Community College. In an interesting schedule quirk, the Lazers will be on the road for 9 of their next 10 games.
