Box Score Lazers Men's Basketball defeated North Country Community College, 91-70, on Saturday afternoon in Allyn Hall.
It was a complete team effort with five Lazers scoring in the double-digits, compiling 19 assists and capitalizing on 14 turnovers with an extra 27 points.
Tyler Sullivan (13 points, 5 assists) and
Shemere Elliott (18 points, 8 rebounds) were credited with half of the points in the first twenty minutes of the game when the Lazers entered the locker room with a comfortable 50-33 halftime lead over the Saints.
However, NCCC did not leave Allyn Hall without putting up a fight. The Saints went on a, 16-5, run in the second half to cut the Lazers lead to just 9 points. With ten minutes remaining in the game, freshman forward
James Walker shifted the momentum when he swooshed a three-point bucket and
Brian Daily followed up with a quick steal and two free-throws. The Lazers defense then closed the doors and held North Country to just 10 points to seal the victory.
Will Cutler drained 16 points,
Tae Elijah had 15 points and 4 assists, plus
Nate Cutler reined in 7 boards and added 12 points.
Onondaga faces Clinton Community College tomorrow at 2pm in Allyn Hall.
