Box Score Onondaga hosted the 7th ranked Sullivan County Community College on Sunday afternoon and left the Generals stunned with a 79-73 victory.
Both teams were evenly matched through the first fifteen minutes of the game; resulting in four tie scores and nine lead changes, but in the final five minutes of the first half Sullivan lost the lead and Onondaga never gave it back, going on an 11-2 run to enter halftime up 38-30.
In the final half, the Lazers jumped on the backs of
Tyler Sullivan and
Tae Elijah and the duo took home the victory for OCC, scoring 26 of the 40 points for the Lazers.
Tyler Sullivan led the scoring for Onondaga with a season high 30 points. The Liverpool native lit up the floor shooting .529 with 4 three-pointers, going 8 for 10 from the free throw line and dishing out 5 assists. Equally impressive was the play of
Tae Elijah dropping 18 points, 2 assists, 2 steals and going 2 for 3 behind the arc. Additionally, forward
James Walker added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the victory.
OCC takes on Schenectady County Community College at 7pm on Thursday, November 10th in the SRC Arena and Events Center.Â
