Box Score Onondaga Women's Basketball overcame the undefeated Fulton-Montgomery Raiders, 96-92, on Saturday afternoon in Allyn Hall.
The Lazers ended the half with a 51-38 lead thanks to the leadership of captains
Jordan Vaught and
Hope DeFazio, combining for 20 points with 6 three-pointers. The Raiders were hot coming out of the locker room, outscoring OCC 23-12 in the third quarter, and eventually tying the game 67-67 with six minutes remaining off a three-pointer from Amirah Greene (44 points). With nine seconds remaining in the game and Onondaga down 81-83, OCC inbounded the ball at half-court and freshman
Jaleya Bryant (15 points) laid the ball in for two points to end regulation 83-83.
Morgan Deland continued her dominate play this season, leading the Lazers with 5 of her team high 21 total points in overtime. The Lazers took the lead in the extra period off a
Hope DeFazio (16 points) three-pointer and
Jordan Vaught (14 points) secured the victory by draining two free throws to end the game.
Sam Britton also chipped in 15 points, 11 points just in the first half, before fouling out early in the fourth quarter.
