The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team traveled to Auburn to take on Cayuga Community College in a Mid State Athletic Conference game on Saturday and came away with a convincing 97-45 win.

The Lazers improved to 6-0 in the conference (18-3 overall) and have now won 90 consecutive conference regular season and tournament games over the past 6-1/2 years.

Onondaga got off to a slow start at the beginning of the game but went on a 22-0 run midway through the first quarter to take a commanding 28-5 lead.

Hope DeFazio (Baldwinsville) led all scorers with 19 points while Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) had 18.  Morgan Deland (Marcellus) and Casey Gray (Auburn) chipped in with 12 and 11 points.  Deland also hauled down 9 offensive rebounds, and Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) distributed 8 assists.  Jordan Vaught (Bishop Grimes) knocked down 3-3 pointers and handed out 5 assists.

Onondaga plays next Saturday at 3pm at home in the SRC Arena against Corning Community College who are now 5-1 in the league – having won the last five games after a conference loss to the Lazers.
