Box Score The Onondaga Community College men's basketball team fell 80-57 against second-seeded Finger Lakes Community College in the semifinal round of the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship on Friday in Corning.
With the loss, the Lazers' season comes to and end with an overall record of 16-13 while the Lakers improve to 22-4 on the season. Finger Lakes now advances to tomorrow's MSAC Conference Championship title game where it will take on the winner of No. 1 Corning Community College against No. 4 Tomkins Cortland Community College.
Onondaga struggled early on as it committed 18 first-half turnovers and would find itself trailing the Lakers 35-22 at halftime.
Early in the second half, the Lazers would chip away at the lead as they trailed by eight points just a few minutes into the half. Finger Lakes would prove to be too much for the Lazers however, as Onondaga would ultimately lose 80-57.
Lloyd Parkmond led the way for the Lazers as the sophomore managed to tally 21 points in the contest. The performance marked the 10th time this season that the sophomore scored 20 points or more in a game.
Also contributing for Onondaga were
Michael Scott and
Joseph Piazza. Scott tallied eight points while Piazza converted on two 3-pointers leading to a nine-point performance.
