It was a back-and-forth affair in the opening half before
Alexandra Gallo broke the tie in the 20th minute when the Schenectady native buried a
Rachael Gac pass to put Onondaga up 1-0.

The lead would be short lived, however, as the Generals evened things up at 1-1 just five minutes later.

After exchanging possessions for the next several minutes, the Lazers once again took the lead in the 38th minute, this time off the foot of
Bridget Field with
Carlee Kingston, the reigning NJCAA Player of the Week, picking up the assist.

With time winding down in the first half of play, Herkimer would score the equalizer in the 42nd minute as both teams would break for halftime with the game tied at two goals apiece.

The Lazers had several opportunities to score the go-ahead goal in the second stanza, but solid play from Herkimer's goalie kept the game tied.

As the horn sounded at the end of regulation, both teams readied for sudden death overtime, but it would be the Generals who struck first, scoring four minutes into the extra session to escape with a 3-2 win.

Onondaga will open MSAC conference play at 4:30 on Wednesday when they welcome Cayuga Community College to David W. Murphy Field.
