Lloyd Parkmond (Rome Free Academy) came off the bench in the second half to score 22 points and grab 11 rebounds in leading Onondaga over North Country, 84-72, in Saranac Lake on Saturday afternoon. The Lazers started fast, jumping out to an early 10-2 advantage. Onondaga extended the lead to 16-5, 8 minutes into the game, but the Saints were able to hang around, and narrowed the gap to 36-33 by halftime.
North Country was able to narrow the gap to 1, at 41-40, with 16:14 to go, when Parkmond entered the game and began his heroics. He scored 11 straight Onondaga points over the next 3:50, igniting a 20-11 Lazer run that saw the Onondaga advantage grow to 61-51 with 9:14 to go. North Country wasn't able to get closer than 6 points the rest of the way, as the Lazers came away with the road win.

Tyler Bliss (Liverpool) recorded a double double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Vaughndell Brantley (Cicero-North Syracuse chipped in 12 points, with 11 coming in the first half. Onondaga's depth was a key to the game, as the Lazers' bench outscored the North Country bench, 45-31, over the contest. Michael Boyea led the Saints with 20 points, while Daniel Trentsch added 15. The Lazers also limited North Country, one of the top three-point shooting teams in the nation, to only 2 three-point goals on 20 attempts.
The Lazers continue their Northern New York road trip on Sunday afternoon with a 1:00 pm tip-off at Clinton Community College.
