Onondaga Men's Lacrosse defeated Monroe Community College, 21-7, in Rochester on Saturday afternoon.
The Lazers only held a one goal advantage at the end of the first period before scoring seven straight in the second to have an, 11-3, lead at the half, and they added five more goals in each of the final two periods to win the eleventh straight of the season.
James Sexton scored a game-high 5 goals and added 2 assists.
Russ Oakes and
Larson Sundown each had 5 points, with Oakes scoring four goals and Sundown scoring one. Two goals apiece came from
Zach Pierce and
Thakwi Cross, and ten additional Lazers recorded a point in the win.
On the defensive side,
Zach Pinney and
Jacob Corcoran both picked up four ground balls and caused a total of five turnovers.
Colton Thew went 10-for-14 from the faceoff,
Evan Schumacher went 11-for-15, and
Ty Cadeau won 2-of-2.
Riley Smith gave up 6 goals and made 8 saves in 49 minutes of play, and
Kyle Leeming stopped two of the three shots that he faced in the final 11 minutes.
Onondaga returns home next week for the last regular season game against Finger Lakes Community College on Friday, April 21
st at 3pm.
