2017: Played in 15 of 15 games... Recorded 4 goals and 4 assists in his first collegiate game on February 25 vs Anne Arundel CC...  5th in the country in goals (52) and points (81)... 11th in the country with 29 assists... 2nd in the country with 7 man-up goals... Registered over 5 points in 10 games... 2017 Steve Caravana Best Offensive Player Award after 8 goals and 1 assist during the NJCAA National Championship weekend... First Team All-American, First Team All-Region III, and All-Mid State Athletic Conference.

Before OCC/Personal: Played 4 years of varsity lacrosse for Coach Jim Barnes at Salmon River Central School... 2015 All-Northern... Also participated in varsity basketball for 3 years... Russ is the son of Stacey and Gabe Oakes of Akwesasne.
