Rochester, MN --Â Abby Kissack of the top-ranked Rock Valley College women's softball team went 2-3 including a three-run homerun and six RBIs to down the Onondaga Community College women's softball team 7-0 in the winners bracket of the NJCAA National Championships Thursday afternoon in Rochester, Minnesota.
The Golden Eagles scored two runs (one earned) in the top half of first inning to jump ahead 2-0 and came back with another two spot in the sixth to lead 4-0. In the top of the seventh Kissack launched a three-run homerun to put Rock Valley up 7-0.
The Lazers managed just two hits in the game with Emily Clapper's double in the fourth and Morgan Nichols' single in the fifth.
Nichols went the distance for Onondaga yielding seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits. Nichols struck out three Golden Eagles.
The Lazers drop down to the loser's bracket and continue play on Friday at 11 a.m. EST against the winner of #3 St. Cloud Tech and #7 Central Lakes. Â Follow all games live HERE.
