Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Softball hosted Corning Community College in their final regular season home game.
Sydney Puttkamer (Cicero, NY / Cicero North Syracuse HS) got the start on the mound for OCC tallying two strikeouts in the top of the 1st.
The Red Barons put two on the board in the top of the 2nd finding gaps in the outfield. OCC responded in the bottom of the inning off a hard hit ball by
Lily Hotaling (Cicero, NY / Cicero North Syracuse HS) forced a throw out of play awarding Puttkamer home. Hotaling scored to follow to tie it up 2-2.
OCC scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 3rd off a Puttkamer RBI.
Corning tied things up in the top of the 5th on an RBI triple and went ahead on a Lazer error to lead 4-3.
A 2-RBI homerun in the top of the 6th for the Red Barons gave them a 6-3 lead before another RBI solidified the 7-3 win for Corning in game 1.
Hotaling took the start in game 2 on the mound.
Kennedy Nash (John Day, OR / Grant Union HS) tallied an RBI in the top of the 2nd putting OCC on the board first followed by an RBI triple from
Mya Huntington (Baldwinsville, NY / Baker HS) to lead 2-0. The Red Barons put one on in the bottom of the 2nd.
A 2-RBI triple gave Corning the lead in the bottom of the 4th. Lazer errors allowed two more to finish the inning with OCC trailing 5-2.
A Corning throwing error allowed a run for OCC with two outs in the top of the 5th, followed by an RBI from
Sophia Colgan (Johnson City, NY / Johnson City HS), trailing just 4-5.
A 2-RBI single in the bottom of the 6th followed by an RBI double extended Corning's lead to 8-4. OCC, unable to close the deficit, took the loss in game 2.
