Sears tosses no-hitter as Lazers take two from Cayuga

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Game 1 - Onondaga 12, Cayuga 0

Freshman Pitcher Brittney Sears (Phoenix) recorded the first no-hitter of her college career. In 5 innings Sears struck out 5 and walked 1 improving her record to 5-1 on the season.

Cayuga pitcher Meghan Feocco kept the Lazer offense in check through the first 3 innings. In the top of the 4th Feocco walked lead-off batter Brianna Riggall (Phoenix). Sarah Bregg (Phoenix) then hit a double scoring Riggall. After hitting Chantel Hammond (Ithaca) with a pitch, Fiocco walked Jenn Deuel (Whitesboro) and then surrendered a triple to Kayla Kibling (Bishop Ludden). The Lazers went on to score 5 runs in the 4th and added 6 more runs in the 5th.

Lazer offense was led by Kayla Kibling 3 for 4 and 3 runs batted in, Sarah Bregg 2 for 2 and Sammi Loveless (Central Square) 2 for 4 and 2 runs batted in.

Game 2 - Onondaga 14, Cayuga 6

The Lazer offense got off to a fast start scoring 6 in the top of the first off Cayuga pitcher Meghan Feocco. Lead-off batter Chantel Hammond worked a walk. The Lazers then hit back to back to back doubles by Jenn Deuel, Kayla Kibling and Brittany Sears. Feocco then walked Sammi Loveless and surrendered singles to Brianna Riggall and Julianna Ferrari (Scotia- Glennville).

In the bottom of the first Cayuga answered the Lazers scoring with back to back singles off Lazer pitcher Elizabeth Riegler (Adirondack) by Sydney Patzke and Katie Byrnes. Patzke and scored on a double by Ali Short. With 2 runners in scoring position Riegler pitched her way out of the inning by retiring the next 3 Cayuga batters in order.

Riegler improved her season record to 4-0 scattering 10 hits over 4.1 innings. The Lazer offense was led by Kayla Kibling 3 for 4, with a double, a triple and 2 runs batted in, Jenn Deuel 2 for 3, double and Brittney Sears 3 for 4, two doubles and 3 runs batted in.
