Lazer bats erupt in softball sweep of TC3

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Game 1 - Onondaga 14, Tompkins Cortland 5 (5 Innings)

Homeruns by Jenn Deuel (Whitesboro) and Kayla Kibling (Bishop Ludden) paced the Lazer offense to a 14-5 victory over Tompkins-Cortland.

Lazer starter Brittany Sears (Phoenix) struck out 6 and allowed 2 earned runs for the win.  Onondaga broke the game open in the top of the second when Sarah Bregg (Phoenix) lead of the inning with a walk.  Then with 2 outs, Jenn Deuel smacked a homerun to left center.   Deuel ended the game batting 2-3 with 2 rbi's and 3 runs scored.

In the 5th inning Allysse Burgos (Liverpool) lead off with a walk and then scored on a single by Sammi Loveless (Central Square).  Back to back walks to Sarah Bregg (Phoenix) and Chantel Hammond (Ithaca) to loaded the bases.   Kayla Kibling cleared the center field fence with the second pitch of the at bat to complete the Lazer's scoring.   Kibling ended the game batting 1-2 with 5 rbi's.

Game 2 - Onondaga 18, Tompkins Cortland 7 (5 Innings)

In a game where Brittany Sears (Phoenix) and Kayla Kibling (Bishop Ludden) hit homeruns and Jenn Deuel, Brianna Riggall and Sammi Loveless all recorded RBI doubles, the Lazer offense paved the way to a 18-7 victory over Tompkins-Cortland.

Lazer starter Elizabeth Riegler (Adirondack) recorded her first college win allowing 4 earned runs in her second start of the season.

Onondaga sent 11 batters to home plate in the top of the 3rd scoring 8 runs.  In the inning 5 Onondaga batters recorded hits, including a 2 run homer by Kayla Kibling (Bishop Ludden).
