Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Women's Basketball moved to 20-3 last night in Allyn Hall defeating the regional rival, Jefferson Community College, 64-56.

Onondaga sophomore Jada Crocker (Fairport, NY / Fairport HS) led all scorers with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Mar Hamer (Belfast, NY / Belfast HS) tallied 15 points and 7 rebounds over the Cannoneers.

The Lazers shot a collective 37.5% from the field, 65% from the freethrow line, and 15% from the arc, scoring 30 points in the paint. OCC had 16 points coming off the bench and converting 16 Jefferson turnovers to 12 points.

Jefferson's only lead of the contest came within the first few minutes off a three to lead 5-4. A Hamer layup gave them back the lead that they would never surrender.The Lazers had a 37-28 lead at the break after outscoring the Cannoneers 21-9 in the first quarter. Back to back threes in the second quarter for Giselle Allen-Cruz (Valrico, FL / Liverpool HS) gave the Lazers a 17-point lead. their largest of the contest.

Jefferson recovered from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter bringing it back within 4 points to start the fourth. The Lazers continued to work in the paint to take back a comfortable enough lead as time expired. Made freethrows down the stretch secured the victory for the Lazers.
 
OCC moves to 10-1 in conference with the win. They will wrap up conference and regular season play this Saturday in Allyn Hall with Corning Community College at 1pm.
