Syracuse, NY - Men's Basketball hosted SUNY Broome at 12pm on Wednesday afternoon. Coming out of the tight matchup with a 94-89 win, the Lazers move to 5-0 in conference.

After an early 9-4 lead for OCC, Broome manufactured a 10-point lead draining 21 points from beyond the arc in the first half. The Lazers recovered from the deficit to end the half, entering the break with a major momentum shift and 1-point lead thanks to a Nyqwan Morris (Brooklyn, NY / Thomas Jefferson HS) layup seconds before the buzzer. Siyani Arthur (Brooklyn, NY / Brooklyn Law & Technology) dropped 11 points in the half.

The Lazers extended their lead to 6 points to start the second before Broome reclaimed their lead for the majority of the half. The Lazers tied it up three times before edging 90-89 with 29 seconds remaining. Two defensive stops and a bucket and two freethrows from Siyani Arthur secured the win for OCC, 94-89. Arthur led the pack with 25 points. Morris and Malachi Wilson (Brooklyn, NY / Thomas Jefferson HS) each tallied 17.

The Lazers continue conference play this Saturday, January 24th at 1pm with 2-11 Cayuga Community College on the road.
