Corning, NY - Onondaga Volleyball traveled to Corning Community College on Saturday to face the Red Barons and the Broome Hornets in a tri-match.
The Lazers kicked it off in the second match of the day at 2pm against the strong Corning program. The Lazers just barely dropped the first two sets, 25-23, hanging with the Red Barons. With the match on the line, the Lazers came back in the third, 25-20 and domiated in the fourth, 25-16, forcing a fifth. The Red Barons just had the edge and took the 3-2 victory, 15-12. Game leaders include
Ella Beckering with 11 kills,
Cydney Pitman with 28 assists, Cara Wilson with 5 aces, and
Samantha Sovocool with 26 digs.
Onondaga took the court immediately following their first match against the Broome Hornets. After a 26-24 loss in set one, the Lazers put it away winning a dominant remaining three sets, 25-12, 25-10, and 25-17, going 1-1 on the day and moving to 6-2 on the season. Game leaders included
Grace Plewak with 11 kills,
Chylure Bucktooth with 33 assists, Beckering with 5 aces, and Sovocool with 16 digs.
Onondaga Volleyball will host its' annual Cara Bryant Memorial Pod this Saurday, September 27th in Allyn Hall with Finger Lakes, Monroe, and Corning Community Colleges. Matches will begin at 12pm.
