Canandaigua, NY - Onondaga Volleyball traveled to Finger Lakes Community College for their first regular season match against the nationally ranked Lakers. The Lazers suffered a 3-1 loss taking a win in the second set.

The Lazers struggled to get their offense started over the dominant Lakers until a kill from Freshman Ella Beckering put them on the board. Beckering led on the day with 7 total kills. Finger Lakes took set one 25-12. Onondaga was first on the board in set two which would result in a 25-23 win with 7 kills and 5 service aces. Tied at 1 set to 1, the Lakers ended the third set quickly with a 25-5 victory headed into the 4th with a 2-1 lead over the Lazers. Competing but just falling short was Onondaga losing the 4th set 25-21 with 6 kills. Freshman Chylure Bucktooth recorded 4 service aces and 9 assists for the Lazers. Ella Beckering and Samantha Sovocool each had 11 digs.

Onondaga will host SUNY Broome in their home opener next Tuesday, September 2nd at 6pm in Allyn Hall.
