Corning, NY - Onondaga Volleyball traveled to take on the Red Barons of Corning Community College for a midweek matchup on Tuesday night. The Lazers were victorious in four sets (22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 26-24) moving to 8-3 on the year.
Onondaga previously faced the strong Corning program on September 20th at the Corning Pod, taking a loss in five sets. This win handed Corning just their second at home loss.
The Lazers showed resilience coming up just short 22-25 in set one, followed by three close margins of victory to take the win, including a 26-24 in the fourth. Freshman Outside Hitter
Ella Beckering led the offense, tallying 16 kills while
Precious Gabriel and
Cariana Wilson added another 12 and 9 kills. Freshman Setter
Chylure Bucktooth registered 37 assists while Freshman Libero
Samantha Sovocool led the defensive side with 24 digs in the victory.
The Lazers will travel to Troy, NY for the Hudson Valley Pod this Sunday, October 5th for matches with the 14-0 Vikings and 5-5 SUNY Adirondack.
