Troy, NY - Onondaga Volleyball traveled to the Region 3 Pod at Hudson Valley on Sunday for matches with the Vikings and SUNY Adirondack. The Lazers split 1-1 on the day moving to 9-4 on the season.
The Lazers took the opening set in game one versus the Timberwolves 25-23. Falling in the second, 25-17, the Lazers responded with victories in the third and fourth winning 25-19 in both, taking the win.
Precious Gabriel led the Lazer offense with 12 kills and
Ella Beckering followed with 10 alongside
Chylure Bucktooth's 28 assists. Defense was led by Libero
Samantha Sovocool with 21 digs.
The Lazers had a tall task in match 2 against the undefeated Hudson Valley. The Lazers hung right with the Vikings with a 25-21 victory in set 2, and falling just short, 26-24 in the 4th set to take the loss. Gabriel added on another 12 kills in the second match and Beckering another 9. Bucktooth contributed 22 more assist for a total41 on the day. Sovocool kept the defense strong with another 17 digs.
The Lazers will host a conference match with Genesee in Allyn Hall at 6pm on Tuesday, October 7th.
