Onondaga had 4 conference matchups with doubleheaders against Jefferson on the road and Finger Lakes at home. The Lazers split with the Cannoneers and swept Finger Lakes with a 3-1 record on the weekend.
Watertown, NY - Game 1 on Friday took place at 3pm with
Rylee Broadwell on the bump for the Lazers. Broadwell pitched a complete game with 9 strikeouts. The Lazer offense struggled to produce runs until the 3rd scoring 3 runs and taking a 3-2 lead. Jefferson answered in the 4th resulting in a 3-5 final in game 1 with a loss for Onondaga.
The Lazer offense took off in game 2.
Paige Glassford and
Avree Salce each had two hits and an RBI. On the mound was
Aubrey Fraher allowing just 2 hits for the Cannoneers.
Bianca DeSellems closed resulting in a 9-5 win in game 2.
Syracuse, NY - A quick turnaround led to the Lazers first home game of the season hosting Finger Lakes Community College. Fraher pitched 5 innings and finishing with 9 strikeouts and credited with the win. Game 1 ended with a walk-off homerun from
Gabriella Magie to take a 9-run lead after 6 innings and taking the 12-4 win.
Carley Cinquemani,
Sophia Van Horn, and Magie each had 2 RBIs.
Rylee Broadwell started game 2 and pitched the complete 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. The Lazers took a 12-4 win in 5 innings with 4 hits from
Kendall Cuyler and 3 RBIs from
Carley Cinquemani.
The Lazers are back at it this Thursday, April 4th to host Corning Community College at 3pm at the OCC Softball Complex.
