Syracuse, NY - Men's Basketball hosted two contests this weekend against the Clinton Community College Cougars and the North Country Saints. The men move to 1-6 after dropping two close games at home.
The Lazers trailed 14-8 in the first half before going on a 14-2 scoring run with three
Gage Kielmann 3's and one from
Aiden Wine to lead 22-16. Three defensive stops in the final minute of the half and another three from Kielmann and 5 points for
Gavyn Hogue sent the Lazers into halftime in a great spot trailing by 1.
A hot start for the Cougars gave them a lead that they would consistently hold for the second half and allowed them to pull away with a 84-73 final score.
Gage Kielmann had a career high 40 points.

Sunday brought another tight matchup with the Lazers taking on the North Country Saints. The Lazers trailed by a small margin for the majority of the first half and trailing by 6 to enter the second. The Lazers trailed by as much as 15 mid way through the second half, but scraped back for an exhilarating final 4 minutes cutting it to just a 5-point lead for the Saints. The Lazers found themselves with a 1-point lead with 1:10 remaining after a 3-point play from Kielmann. With two more lead changes and a made shot from the Saints with 15.3 seconds remaining, the Lazers utilized all their timeouts to draw up a play which would result in a turnover with 2.6 remaining and possession to the Saints. Two Saints freethrows gave them a 3-point lead with 1.8 remaining. OCC's final shot was taken by
Eric Jackson from half court, but couldn't find net resulting in a 89-86 final. Forte had another 23 points tying his career high and Kielmann with another 22.

The men will host Finger Lakes Community College this Wednesday, November 20th following the women.
