Syracuse, NY - Onondaga hosted their first Regional Pod of the season this weekend against the Genesee Cougars and the Jamestown Jayhawks.
The Lazers started the day at 21pm against Genesee for the first match of the day. The Lazers took the first set defeating the Cougars 25-18. Genesee responded with a 25-15 win in the second set. The Lazers took the third win 25-19 and forcing a 4th set with a close 26-24 win over Genesee for the 3-1 victory.
Ava Bero led match 1 with 7 kills.
Alexsis Knox had 14 assists.
With a break in between, the Lazers came back at 4pm to face Jamestown for the third match of the day. Onondaga took sets 1 and 2 over the Jayhawks looking to close the match in 3. The Jayhawks put up a fight in the third set nearly causing a 4th, but the Lazers shut it down taking the 25-23 win for a 3-0 victory and adding two wins to their regional record.
Ava Bero had 9 kills and 12 digs in match 2.
The Lazers will host Broome Community College tonight in Allyn Hall at 6pm for another regional matchup.
