Sanborn, NY - The Lazers competed in another regional pod this weekend at Niagara Community College taking on the Thunderwolves and the Erie Kats bringing them to 5-4 on the season.
The Lazers took on Niagara at 10am for te first match of the day, defeating the Thunderwolves 3 sets to 1. After a close first set and falling in the second, the Lazers took care of business in the 3rd and 4th to secure the victory.
Kara Stephens led with 12 kills alongside setter,
Alexsis Knox's 11 assists.
The Lazers came back from the break for match 3 of the day to take on the Erie Kats, ranked 5th in the region. With Erie's momentum carrying through from the previous match, the Lazers fell short all 3 sets in the defeat, although putting up a fight in the 3rd. Knox had 8 assists and 9 digs in match 2.
The Lazers will host their 2nd pod this Saturday, September 30th with a start time of 12pm against Jefferson Community College followed by the No. 1 Fulton-Montgomery Raiders at 4pm.
