Syracuse, NY - The Lazers took on the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks this weekend in a doubleheader. With their first sweep of the season, the Lazers advance to an overall 3-5 record.
Game 1 kicked off at 12pm. The two teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd inning where the Lazers took the lead scoring
Jack Scanlon on a base hit from
Mike Benedetto. After another scoreless inning, the Jayhawks scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th for the Lazers to trail 3-1. But the Lazers were able to find their groove and scored 12 straight runs to Mercy Rule the Jayhawks in the bottom of the 5th for a 13-3 final.
Seth Zurbruegg secured the win on the mound with 8 strikeouts.
The Lazers carried their momentum into game 2 holding the Jayhawks scoreless until the 5th inning with
Mason Sands on the mound. The Lazers lead 8-1 before giving up 6 runs to the Jayhawks in the top of the 6th, but were able to answer with 5 of their own. The Jayhawks were unable to manufacture in the 7th and the Lazers finished with their second victory of the day with a final score of 13-7.

Jon Gonzalez-Perez each had 2 hits in game 2 and
Carter King with 3.
Mason Sands took home the win on the mound.
The Lazers' next contest will take place tomorrow, March 28th at 2pm at the OCC Baseball Complex against Jefferson Community College.
