Syracuse, NY - The Softball team took on Genesee Community College this Thursday and Jefferson Community College on Friday both on their home field. The Lazers swept Genesee defeating the Cougars in 5 innings in both contests. After a close loss to Jefferson in Game 1, the Lazers came back and defeated the Cannoneers in 5 innings as well.
Onondaga's impressive offensive performance continued all throughout Thursday's contests led by
Madison Henry with 6 base hits on the day with 3Â triples and 8 RBI's alongside
Jenna Mills' 6 base hits with 4 doubles and 7 RBI's. Game 1 ended with a final score of 10-2 after the Lazers scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with 2 outs to reach their 8-run victory over the Cougars.
Trista DeLong held the mound in game 2 pitching her first shutout with a final score of 19-0.Â
Alexa Sicina pitched game 1 against the Cannoneers finishing with 8 strikeouts. After struggling at the plate, the Lazers fell to Jefferson 4-2 but came back hot in game 2 with a 13-3 victory.
Jazlynne Martin led with 2 base hits and 3 RBI's.
The Lazers will travel to Troy, NY on Sunday, May 8th to face Hudson Valley Community College at 1pm and 3:30pm.
