The Softball team wrapped up their regular season this week after being defeated by Hudson Valley and Corning Community College double headers. This brings the Lazer's regional record to 13-13 (.500) and giving them the #8 seed in the regional tournament.
Troy, NY - The Lazers showed strong defense in the first 2 innings of game 1 against Hudson Valley but gave up 6 in the 3rd. The Lazers were defeated 9-1 in the bottom of the 5th.
Jazlynne Martin scored the Lazer's run with a double in the 5th inning.
Jenna Mills went 2 for 3 in game 2 and
Jazlynne Martin and
Madison Henry each recorded a double with an RBI from Henry. Henry finishes the regular season leading the Lazer's in RBI's with 41 in total. The final score of game 2 was 8-3.
Syracuse, NY - Madison Henry led the offense going 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 RBI's in game 1 against the Red Barons. The Lazers struggled to string hits together and gave up a few defensive innings and finished with a final score of 12-3. The Lazers continued to struggle at the plate in game 2 with a final score of 9-1.
The Lazers will travel to Corning Community College this Saturday, May 14th to play the Red Barons in a best of 3 game series for the first round of the regional tournament.
