Corning, NY - In the first round of the postseason, the #8 seeded Lazers fell to the #1 seeded Corning at the Red Baron's field in a best of 3 game series.
In game 1, the Lazers came ready to play and putting up 6 runs on the Red Barons in the 3rd inning and maintaining their lead until the 5th inning where they gave up 7 runs and were defeated 14-6.
Jazlynne Martin and
Trista DeLong went 2 for 3 at the plate and
Madison Henry knocked in 3 runs bringing her season RBI's to 44 in total.
The Lazers fought hard in game 2 and put up 3 runs in the 7th inning all with 2 outs to try and claw their way back but ended up defeated 10-6 in their final contest. DeLong went 3 for 3 and
Keelyn Martin put up 3 RBI's.
The Lazers overcame numerous obstacles this season sustaining multiple injuries, low numbers, and an unpredictable outcome. They defied all odds by advancing to the postseason and finishing as Mid-State Athletic Conference runners-up.
Sophia D'Arcangelis and
Madison Henry were named members of this years all-conference team.
