Lazers Push Win Streak to Ten

Syracuse, N.Y.- Thursday, the Lazers battled against the Cazenovia College Wildcats in a single 9-inning game at the Onondaga Community College Baseball Complex. The Lazers used an offensive dominant 4th and 6th inning where they combined for eleven runs. The Wildcats could not close the gap, and the Lazers won 18-7.

Offensively, the Lazers were led by sophomore third baseman Garrett Stuckey and freshman second baseman Kolby Gidcumb. Stuckey had five plate appearances for the Lazers, where he produced two hits, two RBIs, two runs, and his first home run this season. Gidcumb added three runs and two hits in three at-bats. He was also busy on the bases, where he finished the game with three stolen bases.

Defensively, the Lazers were led by sophomore pitcher Tom Roefaro, who earned the win on the mound. Roefaro faced 12 batters, had four strikeouts, and gave up two runs in three innings of work. Sophomore pitcher Seth Zurbruegg came in to close the game, where he struck out the last three outs of the game.

The Lazers will play next against the Utica University Pioneers JV baseball team on Tuesday, March 29th, at the Onondaga Community College Baseball Complex in a doubleheader matchup. Game one is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
