Box Score

The last time the Onondaga Community College women's basketball team was held to under 50 points in a game was on November 8, 2015 – a 48-45 win over Sullivan County Community College in the finals of the OCC Classic.  On Friday night in the semi-finals of the Mid State Athletic Conference tournament at Finger Lakes Community College, the Lazers (who average 79 points per game) shot 20.5% from the field and were defeated by Tompkins Cortland Community College 57-46.  The loss dropped Onondaga's record to 23-6 for the season while TC3 improved to 16-8.

After jumping out to a 16-9 first period lead, the Lazers went ice cold from the field – shooting 6 for 48 in the second and third periods combined.  A 14-4 run at the end of the game helped cut the final deficit to 11 points.

Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) was the lone Lazer to score in double figures with 11 points, while Samantha Britton (Kenmore West – Buffalo) pulled down a career best 21 rebounds in the loss.

Prior to the start of the game, Eure, Britton, and Rachel Scalisi (Fabius – Pompey) were recognized for being selected to the MSAC All-Conference team.

Onondaga has a chance for redemption when they host the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region 3 Championship on Tuesday, February 27 where they will once again see TC3 with a tentative 5pm tip time.
