Box Score The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team came all the way back from a 25-6 deficit at the end of the first 10 minutes of play on Saturday to defeat Cayuga Community College 88-77 in Auburn.

The first period of play saw Cayuga steadily build a lead while shooting 72% from the field and holding the visitors to a mere three baskets. But the Lazers eventually found their rhythm in the second quarter and chipped away at the lead by outscoring Cayuga 28-11 to go into halftime trailing by 2 (36-34). Onondaga forged ahead 57-50 after the third stanza only to see Cayuga pull ahead 61-60 on a four-point play by Spartan guard Jasmine Walker who was fouled on a made 3-pointer and converted the ensuing free throw. Onondaga then proceeded to go on a 15-5 run that helped seal the road victory. With the win, the Lazers go to 5-1 in conference play (17-5 overall) while Cayuga fall to 1-5 (7-10).

The Lazers placed seven players in double figure scoring with Michaela Whiteman (G. Ray Bodley – Fulton) and Rachel Scalisi (Fabius – Pompey) leading the way with 13 points each. Payton Noeller (Cato – Meridian), Shannon Foehl (Skaneateles), and Samantha Britton (Kenmore West) each had 12 points; Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) and Hanna Keyser (Cato-Meridian) rounded out the double figure scoring for Onondaga with 11 and 10 respectively. Eure corralled 13 rebounds, while Noeller led the team with a season high 11 assists to go along with 5 steals.

Onondaga begins it second go-around in conference play when they take on Corning Community College at home at Allyn Hall on Saturday, February 3 at 12 noon.
