Box Score It's not how you start – it's how you finish!
Â
This axiom proved true on Sunday as the Onondaga Community College women's basketball recovered from an early 7-0 deficit on their way to a
77-49 win on the road at Corning Community College in the Lazers' first Mid State Athletic Conference game of the year. With the win Onondaga improves to 13-3 (1-0) on the season while Corning falls to 4-8 (1-1).
Â
After their slow start, the Lazers were able to tie the score at 20 after the first period, take a 43-32 lead at halftime, and then used their transition game to steadily pull away to the final margin of victory.
Â
Samantha Britton (Kenmore West) and Shannon Foehl (Skaneateles) paced Onondaga in scoring with 16 points each, while Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) chipped in with 14 points to go along with a team high 5 assists and Rachel Scalisi (Fabius – Pompey) had a double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Â
The Lazers continue conference play when they visit SUNY Broome for a 5:30pm tip-off on Tuesday.
