Box Score Onondaga Lazers Men's Lacrosse walked away with their second win of the season against Mercyhurst North East at David W Murphy on Wednesday afternoon. OCC made nine goals during the first period, thirteen goals in the second, seven goals during the third and five in the fourth period to outscore the Saints, 34-3.
Game-highs came from
Brian Cunningham with 4 goals, while
Nick Myers and
Ty Cadeau each gathered 8 groundballs.
Jake Anderson,
Brendan Duggan, and
Zach Lorenz all added 3 goals. Six other Lazers scored two goals and another nine chipped in one goal apiece. Most notably, sophomores
Zack Blake and
Eddie Paredes both scored their first career goal in a Lazers uniform.
In the first five seconds of the game,
James Sexton put the Lazers in the lead. Sexton added another goal and helped with an assist to
Brendan Duggan later in the first period.
In the first eleven seconds of the second,
Brian Cunningham scored to increase the Lazers advantage to, 10-0, and added another goal just five minutes later. Cunningham also contributed the first goal of the third period after four minutes of play to make the score, 23-1.
With 3:32 left in the second period, Mercyhurst scored their first goal of the night off the stick of Jacob Norton.
Riley Smith started in net for OCC and tallied three saves.
Kyle Leeming took over in the second and third, giving up one goal and stopping one.
Cade Talbert finished the game by giving up two goals and capturing three saves.
The Lazers face Finger Lakes Community College this Sunday at noon at David W. Murphy Field.
