Box Score No.7 Onondaga Women's Basketball defeated Corning Community College, 92-56, in their Mid-State Athletic Conference opening matchup on Saturday afternoon in Allyn Hall.
After playing an even 10-10 first quarter the Lazers defense dominated the game, forcing 29 turnovers and three 10-second backcourt violations.
OCC entered the half with a comfortable, 41-20, edge over the Red Barons and continued their control in the third quarter with another twenty-one points. The reserves took over halfway through the third and they did not disappoint, shooting .545 from the floor for 48 points.
The Lazers were led by
Morgan Deland's (11 points, 11 rebounds) fifth straight double-double.
Rachel Scalisi chipped in 13 points and 4 steals.
Sam Britton added 10 points, plus
Bridget Murphy and
Shannon Foehl each recorded season-highs with 9 and 7 points respectively.
No.7 Onondaga visits Broome Community College on Tuesday for a 5:30pm tip off.
