Syracuse, N.Y. — Nick Claver threw a complete game four-hitter to earn his third win of the season and Aaron Beck improved to 5-0 after striking out 10 to help the Onondaga Community College baseball team take two wins from Broome Community College Sunday afternoon at the Baseball Complex. The Lazers won game one 8-3, and took game two 11-0.
Game One: Onondaga 8, Broome CC 3
The Lazers scored four runs in the first, two in the second and two in the fifth to take game one 8-3. Eric Thompson led the Lazers with two hits, while Austin Hall, Avery Brooks, Justin Germain, Anthony Sinicropi, Josh Cosgrove and Justin Mathers each finished with a hit apiece. Cosgrove and Mathers finished with two RBI each, and Thompson and Brooks scored twice for Onondaga.
Beck went six innings giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out 10. Kyle Naugle came in out of the bullpen to struck out the side in the seventh.
Game Two: Onondaga 11, Broome 0
In the nightcap, Claver threw a complete game four-hitter to help propel the Lazers to their fourth straight win. Nate Budge led the offense with three hits, including a double and a three-run homerun, while Hall and Terry Daniels booked two hits each. Brooks and Autie Ascenzi rounded out the Lazer's nine hit attack with one hit apiece.
Claver finished the game with five strikeouts.
Onondaga (13-4) returns to the diamond on Tuesday for a doubleheader against Genesee Community College at the Baseball Complex. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Â Â
