Syracuse N.Y. – Sophomore catcher Caitlin Wormuth collected three hits including a double and three RBI to lead the Onondaga Community College baseball team to a 6-2 win over Jefferson Community College in game one of the doubleheader at the Softball Complex Tuesday evening. The Lazers went on to win game two 13-1.
In game one, sophomore pitcher Morgan Nichols threw a complete game 10 hitter issuing two runs (one earned) while striking out seven.
In the nightcap, freshman outfielder Casey Gray went 3-3 from the plate with a double, three RBI and four runs scored. Sophomore Kyra Hunsinger added three hits of her own with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored.
Freshman pitcher Chelcee Staats tossed a complete game with four strikeouts, while giving up one run on five hits.
The Lazers (5-9) return to action on Thursday as they play host to Monroe Community College for a doubleheader slated for 1p.m.
