It's not very often when two players on one team have double-doubles, but on Saturday Onondaga Community College women's basketball team sophomores Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) (16 points and 14 rebounds), Kumba Marong (Bronx Leadership Academy) (14 points and 12 rebounds), and Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) (12 points and 10 assists) all achieved that feat in a 81-58 win over visiting Jefferson Community College in a Mid State Athletic Conference game.  

With the win, Onondaga remained undefeated in the league at 9-0 (22-3 overall) while second place Jefferson moved to 7-3 in the conference and 15-7 overall. The win also extended the Lazers conference win streak to 93 straight over the past 6 plus years and clinched their seventh straight conference title.

Onondaga won a close first period (19-15) and extended its lead to 14 points at the half (41-27).  The Lazers used a swarming defense that led to transition baskets in the second half to put the game away.

Onondaga returns home on Wednesday at 5pm to take on conference rival Tompkins Cortland Community College.
