Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) and Hope DeFazio (Baldwinsville) scored 18 points each to lead the Onondaga Community College women's basketball team to an 89-46 win over visiting Tompkins Cortland Community College to advance to the Mid State Athletic Conference title game which will be played at 1pm tomorrow in Onondaga's Allyn Hall Gym.

Casey Gray (Auburn), Kumba Marong (Bronx Leadership Academy), and Morgan Deland (Marcellus) added 14, 13, and 10 points respectively to the scoring column while national assists leader Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) rewarded her teammates with 8 assists.  DeFazio knocked down five 3-pointers to lead the Lazers who improved to 26-3 on the season and have now won 14 straight games.

Bakowski, Roberts, and Marong were honored after the game as all-conference selections – with Bakowski being name the Player of the Year.  Head Coach Mike Wheeler also was selected as the Conference Coach of the Year.  DeFazio was named as an Honorable Mention selection.

The Lazers will square off with Corning Community College– 47-41 winners over Jefferson Community College in the other semi-final – in the conference championship game on Saturday.
