The Onondaga Community College Women's Basketball Team completed their Florida trip with an 88-69 loss to D-I Hillsborough Community College in Tampa on Thursday night.

The final score was not indicative of the first 34 minutes of the game. The Lazers of Onondaga led the scholarship-laden Hawks at the end of each of the first three periods of the game – 19-17 after the first period, 35-34 at the half, and 61-56 at the end of the third period. With the score tied at 69 with 6 minutes left in the game, Hillsborough went on a 19-0 run to seal the victory on their home court.

Hope DeFazio (Baldwinsville) made five 3-pointers on her way to a team high 21 points while
Jordan Vaught (Bishop Grimes) contributed 15 points in the loss.Â
Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) dished out 8 assists for the Lazers while
Kumba Marong (Bronx Leadership Academy) collected 9 rebounds.

The Lazers fell to 12-3 for the season but have yet to lose to a D-III team. They open their conference schedule on Saturday with a 1pm tip-off at Corning Community College.
