Box Score 3 The Onondaga women's volleyball team enjoyed its best day of the season to date on Saturday, sweeping three matches at the NJCAA Region III POD held at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. The Lazers swept Herkimer College, 25-9 25-12 25-10, in their first match of the day.
Isabella Winklestine led the Lazers with 15 kills and 9 digs, while
Mariah Mee recorded 7 kills and 3 blocks, and
Brittney Valentine posted 2 aces and 17 digs.
Katherine Marte had 4 kills, 27 assists,
In their second match of the day, Onondaga completed another win in 3 straight games, 25-21 25-21 25-12, over Mohawk Valley Community College. Winklestine tallied 22 kills, 2 aces, 13 digs, and 1 block, with
Sami Miller adding 8 kills, 1 ace, and 3 digs. Marte posted 4 kills, 38 assists, 3 aces, and 5 digs. Valentine contributed 2 aces and 19 digs and
Olivia Massett chipped in 3 kills and14 digs.
In their third and final match, the Lazers faced host Fulton-Montgomery, and dropped their first game of the day, 20-25. They bounced back by taking the next three games, 25-18 25-19 25-16. Winklestine again led the way with 23 kills and 13 digs. Miller added 9 kills, 4 digs, and 1 block, with Marte posting 34 assists, 1 ace, and 12 digs. Massett tallied 3 aces and 12 digs and Valentine recorded 34 digs.
With Saturday's wins, the Lazers moved their overall record .500 at 10-10, and improved to 6-4 in Region III POD play. Onondaga's next match will be against Cayuga Community College on Wednesday night at 6:00 pm in Allyn Hall. That contest will double as a Mid-Sate Athletic Conference match and a Region III match.
